Russia, Japan can do fishing, tourism on Kurile Islands together
NAGATO, Japan, Dec 15 (PRIME) – Russia and Japan can be jointly involved in fishing, tourism and healthcare on the Kurile Islands, presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters on Thursday.
“I can list several areas: fishing, tourism, culture, healthcare,” Ushakov said.
The official said on Tuesday that Russian and Japanese leaders Vladimir Putin and Shinzo Abe can announce a start of joint economic activities on four Kurile Islands at a meeting slated for Thursday–Friday.
Ushakov said that the officials will order experts in the two states to begin consultations to agree on the conditions and areas of the joint activities.
